Introduction
Linuxabc is an educational and informational website about Linux, open-source software, computing and safer computer use.
This policy explains in clear language what data the website and connected services may use and what privacy choices are available to visitors.
In short
Linuxabc does not require registration, does not use Google Analytics and does not create its own visitor profiles. Browser local storage is used for selected site preferences, while Google AdSense and a consent management platform may be used when advertising is enabled.
Controller and contact
The website is operated by Linuxabc – Aleksander Saša Koblar. For privacy-related questions, contact info@linuxabc.si.
Personal data and email
Linuxabc does not require a user account and does not directly ask visitors for information such as their name, home address or telephone number.
If a visitor sends an email, Linuxabc receives the sender's email address and any other information voluntarily included in the message. This information is used to respond and, where necessary, continue the related communication.
Email correspondence is kept for as long as reasonably necessary to answer the request, continue the communication or retain a record of an important agreement.
LocalStorage and theme preference
Linuxabc uses browser localStorage to remember whether the visitor selected the light or dark theme. The setting remains in the browser until it is changed or the visitor clears the site's stored data.
Linuxabc uses this preference for the user experience and not to track visitors across different websites.
Google Analytics
Linuxabc currently does not use Google Analytics. Google Analytics is therefore not used by the website to measure visits or create analytics profiles of visitors.
Google AdSense and advertising
Linuxabc may use Google AdSense to help fund the website. When advertising is enabled, Google and other advertising technology providers may, depending on the visitor's choices and settings, use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses or other identifiers to serve and measure ads, prevent abuse and support other advertising-related functions.
Personalized ads may use information about previous activity or inferred interests when selecting an ad. Non-personalized ads do not use previous activity for personalization, but cookies or similar technologies may still be used for frequency capping, aggregated reporting and fraud prevention.

Visitors can also manage ad personalization through Google My Ad Center.
Consent for cookies and advertising
When advertising is active and consent is required, Linuxabc uses a consent management platform (CMP) through which visitors can consent, refuse or manage individual purposes and providers in more detail.
The visitor's choice affects which advertising technologies may be used. Some technical processing may still be necessary for basic ad delivery, security, fraud prevention or aggregated reporting.
Consent is not required to read Linuxabc content
Refusing personalization or other optional purposes does not prevent access to the educational content of the website.
Server logs and technical data
The hosting provider may keep technical server logs for normal operation, security and troubleshooting. These logs may include information such as an IP address, access time, requested page, browser type or other technical request data.
Linuxabc does not use these logs to create personal visitor profiles. The scope and retention period of server logs may depend on the hosting provider's configuration and policies.
External links and social networks
Linuxabc contains links to external websites such as Linux distribution websites, documentation, open-source projects, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn.
When a visitor follows an external link, they leave Linuxabc. Any further processing of data is governed by the privacy rules of the external service.
Embedded content
If Linuxabc uses embedded videos, maps or other third-party content in the future, those providers may process technical information or use their own cookies and similar technologies when the content is loaded.
This privacy policy will be updated if the use of such services changes in a meaningful way.
Visitor rights
Where Linuxabc processes a visitor's personal data, the visitor may, depending on the circumstances, request information about the processing, access to their data, correction or deletion, restriction of processing, or exercise other rights available under applicable data protection rules.
Requests can be sent to info@linuxabc.si.
Changes to this privacy policy
This policy may be updated when website features, advertising, external services or other data-processing practices change.
